Stein Stokke & The Engine
Stein Stokke & The Engine is a seasoned blues band with punch, warmth and solid songs in their baggage. They play blues the way it should be played – with nerve, groove and stories that matter.
The band is known for strong concerts at clubs and festivals, and for an expression that both swings and leaves a mark. This is blues with personality – and with a frontman who is completely unlike anyone else.
“The Engine is a fitting name for this quartet. There was a good engine in this band! … This was a very tough and exciting band.”
– Per Rannug, BluesNews.no
"With 'My Own Way Out', Stein Stokke & The Engine perform from Norway well written and well executed very varied blues."

BIO
Stein Stokke & The Engine have been a regular fixture at Norwegian blues clubs and festivals for many years. They have built up a loyal audience through concerts that are both driving, entertaining and genuine.
Their songs are written through many years of playing and living life. The music is available on all streaming services, has received good reviews and regular radio play both in Norway and internationally. Here you get everything from calm, atmospheric blues to more driving songs - always with a clear groove and strong lyrics.
Stein Stokke has been around since the 60s and is known for his raw and powerful voice, his personal harmonica and his distinctive stage presence. In addition to guitar, he also plays the jew's harp - and occasionally the baryton horn. It is not everyday fare on a blues scene, but it gives his concerts a distinctive character that the audience remembers. Many of his lyrics address themes from everyday life and what is happening around us, often with both seriousness and a twinkle in his eye.
On guitar and slide we find Trond Eliassen, an experienced musician who knows when to lift and when to hold back. He is also a sound engineer and producer, and has been responsible for the production of the band's and the duo's recent releases.
Rune Bryn on drums delivers solid grooves with both drive and confidence, while Borgar Skoveng on bass provides the foundation - with musicality and experience from both stage and studio.
Stokke/Eliassen Blues Duo:
In addition, Stein and Trond play in an acoustic duo format. Here they have rearranged the band's songs, and added a few selected cover songs. With a stomp box, two guitars, harmonica, mouth harp and baritone horn they create a concert experience that is close, personal and different.
The duo combines music and stories in a way that keeps the audience engaged throughout - whether it is laughter, reflection or singing along.
