Gretland

Gretland is an instrumental music project, led and developed by Jon-Erik Gretland. Jon-Erik finds inspiration in various music genres, and he mixes elements from pop, rock, blues and jazz. He likes to build his music around a melodic line or a sound that the guitar gives. For Jon-Erik, a song can be created on an acoustic guitar where the melody and chords are played together.
He expresses that he likes to be able to sing the melodies, and when he is moved by a melody, he switches to producing and recording the song. In 2021, the collaboration with Georg Storhaug (producer) began, and this has been exciting, educational and inspiring, and he is good at "thinking outside the box". Jon-Erik is inspired by the impressions around him, especially from nature and the tranquility he experiences in nature. The melodies can often come as a stream, and it is important to have the voice recorder in close proximity. He admits that he sometimes has to look around a bit before he starts singing or humming them into the voice recorder.
